The historical town Český Krumlov is a well known national monument included in 1992 onto organization UNESCO. The name comes from the natural topography of the town, specifically from the tightly crooked meander of the Vltava river.

From the archeological finds we assume that the first civilization living at this area dates back into to the Older Stone Age (70.000-50.000 B.C), since that time, many barbaric tribes lived there such as Celtics, Slavs etc. The today’s form of the town started in 1173, when German envoy of the king Fridrich Barbarossa was passing through the country and established a town there. The biggest boom of Český Krumlov was in the 12.century, when aristocratic genus Rozmberk moved to Krumlov. During the reign of the Czech King Přemysl Otakar II, Cesky Krumlov flourished and many historical buildings as Cathedrals or belfry were built. Nowadays Český Krumlov is one of the most picturesque towns not only of the Czech Republic but whole centre Europe. During the communist era, the region was losing its beauty however since November 1989 (the Velvet revolution) the substantial finance was invest to restore the impressive experience to the visitor.
